summer stuff
I think the 'lazy days of summer' go out the door after you leave school. I'm just overwhelmingly busy with lots of work, moving and attending family events or weddings on the weekend. Lots of things are going on. I'm tempted to give this post a cheesy title about changing or evolving but that kind of reminds me of ways to describe 5th grade health class!
I just finished the annual summer camp for kids with spina bifida, where this year they officially made me in charge of the volunteers and activities. I've been volunteering at that camp for 10 consecutive years! And this year we had the best volunteers ever, no doubt, and the kids were amazing as they always are.
I said goodbye to my apartment on Lexington, my first and last live by myself place (you can't count the Landon dorms). So many good memories there, but the new apartment is a huge upgrade - two floors, 3 bedrooms plus a private attic and basement. And it's closer to family. The process of moving (when I hardly feel like I settled in after the last move) is hell, plainly. The process of unpacking, and finding where I put everything, is harder. I'm so much looking forward to my August vacation... in Mexico!
And just when you think a wedding is all you have to plan / look forward to... Patrick got accepted into nursing school for the fall and is becoming a full-time student!
