murderball

Worked a lot over the weekend. When I was free I went with my mother, Mollie and Paul to see the documentary 'Murderball' at Market Arcade and then a presentation by Mark Zupan, one of the disabled rugby players featured in the movie. He was a cool guy with an interesting story; when we went up to have a copy of his book signed afterward I tried to give him some advice of where to party for the Sabres game, so hopefully he had a good Saturday night in Buffalo. I also took a signed poster of the movie with me and later was amused to discovered that he had doodled a boob on the back side of it.

futuresex something or other

Last week my mother won tickets to the Justin Timberlake concert through a lottery at work. She gave them to me and my brother to split amongst ourselves. What do you do with 4 tickets to JT? Girl party! Michelle, Kelly, Caitlin and I made a really great night of it and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the concert (properly known as the FutureSex/Loveshow). We even caught the Sabres' Teppo Numminen hanging out by the snack bar before the show. Someone secretly wants to get Justified!

stuck in buffalo

On Saturday Patrick and I woke up early to start a drive to Michigan where I had basketball tickets for the Michigan State / Ohio State game. A couple hours later we turned back, due to winter weather and terrible road conditions in Canada. I was extremely disappointed to have to give my tickets up, which were box seats I'd won at an alumni event in December. To salvage the day, we made the trek to Niagara Falls instead to see it in the freezing cold. It was sort of fun, but it wasn't Tom Izzo and the Spartans (who ended up losing anyway, so whatever).

My friend Emily is moving to Chicago, so the rest of the weekend was her extended going away party. We went to Nektar, Gabe's Gate, and the new place on Allen, Staples. We also made an appearance at the Elmwood Lounge for the Lance Diamond show. It was really late and at that point we were pretty much the only ones there breaking it down. Lance, always one with the ladies, charmed us by handing out his cufflinks to me and Emily at the end of the show. Swooning!
