the holidays
Had the holiday week off, which was fortunate because I've been overwhelmed with things to do, people to see. I was able to catch up with a lot of old friends who were home (or at least out on the town) during the break. Went to the Buffalo Ball, a glorified Charity Ball for the over 21 crowd, which was basically a high school reunion. Then had a lovely, quiet Christmas with my family and aquired some nice gifts including a Cusinart food processor, new toaster oven, jewelry, art and clothes (my boss also gave me an iRiver mp3 player, so add that to the goods). But the downside to spending a lot of time with the family was that I contracted the nasty stomach flu that had been going around the house and was consequently sick as a dog for three+ days. New Year's Eve became pretty anti-climatic in its wake, since I wasn't well enough to drink or party hard. I had booked dinner for our group of friends at Laughlin's downtown but the resturant was extremely slow and poorly organized for the dinner and they pretty much fucked up our plans to go to the balldrop. All in all, everyone had fun and no one got hurt. But next year, I think I'm going to jet off somewhere exotic instead. = )
